Warranty

Last updated: September 2026

Home Tech products may be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or another warranty provided with the product. Warranty coverage varies by product and manufacturer.

Any manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights cannot be removed by a manufacturer’s warranty, Home Tech policy or a warranty period.

Consumer guarantees may continue to apply after a manufacturer’s warranty has expired, depending on the product and the circumstances.

2. Manufacturer’s Warranty

Where a product includes a manufacturer’s warranty, the applicable warranty period and conditions will be provided with the product or in the manufacturer’s warranty documentation.

The manufacturer’s warranty may provide for:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Parts
  • Servicing
  • Other remedies specified by the manufacturer

Warranty coverage may vary between products.

3. Making a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, contact Home Tech through our Contact Us page.

Please provide:

  • Your name
  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • Product name and model
  • Date of purchase
  • Description of the problem
  • Photos or videos where relevant
  • Any other information reasonably required to assess the issue

We may ask for the product to be inspected before determining the appropriate remedy.

4. Assessment

Home Tech may assess a product before arranging a repair, replacement or other remedy.

Where the issue is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, we may coordinate with the manufacturer or an authorised service provider.

However, Home Tech remains responsible for complying with applicable consumer guarantees. We will not simply direct you to the manufacturer where Australian Consumer Law requires Home Tech, as the supplier, to provide a remedy.

5. What Is Not Covered by a Manufacturer’s Warranty

Manufacturer warranty coverage may exclude problems caused by circumstances such as:

  • Accidental damage
  • Misuse
  • Neglect
  • Incorrect installation
  • Unauthorised modification
  • Use contrary to manufacturer instructions
  • Normal wear and tear where applicable

These exclusions apply to the manufacturer’s voluntary warranty and do not remove any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Warranty Costs

Where a warranty claim is valid, the applicable warranty terms will determine how repair, replacement and related expenses are handled.

Where Australian Consumer Law requires Home Tech to provide a remedy, we will meet our legal obligations, including applicable reasonable costs associated with providing that remedy.

7. Repairs and Replacement Parts

Where a product is repaired, replacement parts may be new or refurbished where permitted and appropriate.

Where applicable Australian repair-notice requirements apply, Home Tech will provide the required information before repairs are carried out.

8. Warranty Period

The warranty period for a particular product is the period specified by the applicable manufacturer or warranty documentation.

The expiry of a manufacturer’s warranty does not automatically end your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Whether a consumer guarantee applies depends on the product, its price, its nature and the circumstances of the problem.

9. Major Failure

If a product has a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law, you may have the right to choose between a refund and replacement.

You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from the failure.

10. Minor Failure

If a product has a failure that does not amount to a major failure, Home Tech may provide an appropriate remedy such as a repair or replacement.

If the problem cannot be repaired within a reasonable time, further remedies may become available under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Warranty and Our Refund & Return Policy

Our Refund & Return Policy covers our 30-day change-of-mind returns as well as procedures for faulty, damaged and incorrect products.

The 30-day change-of-mind period does not limit your Australian Consumer Law rights.

A warranty claim may be made separately where a product is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.

12. International Customers

Customers outside Australia may also have rights under the mandatory consumer laws applicable in their country.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to exclude or restrict rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted under applicable law.
